Issue Position: On Minnesota's Economic Problems

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2012
Issues: Taxes

While we are capable of damaging our State economy all by ourselves, we had a lot of help from Washington

1. The Bush tax cuts dramatically reduced federal revenue

2. We conducted a pre-emptive war in Iraq, off the books

3. We deregulated the financial industry allowing it to gamble with our money, extract huge profits at taxpayer risk and stick us with the bill.

In Minnesota, as in most other states, we have legislators who have taken tax pledges swearing loyalty to groups other than the electorate who pays their salaries. This is a direct conflict of interest that should not be tolerated.
